Spiritual Sunday

On Monday.. Go figure… I could have done it yesterday but I really wanted to share my Bullet Point Journal with you and also to whine about the demise of my A5 binder folder.. I wont keep going on about it except to say, I’ve been out today again looking and I still cant find anything similar! Moving right along….

So last week I told you about the latest Bible studies I’ve been doing, refresher Here  and in there I said that if I wasnt careful I’d burn out. Well I didnt burn out but I did get an email from “Cooking up Faith” that she was burning out and would not be continuing the “Love in 2016” the one year study of 1  Corinthians. That was disappointing but kind of also gave me a little bit of breathing space..

So this is whats new this week.

Good Morning Girls– We studied the Book of Job chapters 6 – 10. Job has been through a hard time when God allowed Satan to tempt Job but was ordered not to Kill Job. I was happy that Job never once accused the Lord of allowing these bad things to happen, but then Job started complaining and whining, you know “woe is me, I wish I’d never been born” ( Ugh that sounds like me before I started this journey!)  quite frankly I want to smack Job and tell him to stop being a sooky lah lah, and be patient and see what God has in store, I read some of the later chapters for another study, so I know its all good.

God Chickes Awakend– it’s a daily devotional and so we are working through the Book of Genesis, last week we got up to Genesis 30- part of this was when Rebekah tricked Jacob (who was her favourite)  to get Isaac’s blessing over his twin brother Esau, who was the elder. This caused a big rift and  Jacob left the family. We also learnt how he went and found his cousin Laban and fell instantly in love with Rachel, he worked 7 yrs for Laban so he could marry Rachel who as the youngest daughter should not have been married first, so Laban made him marry the older daughter Leah whom he didnt love, and he had to work Another 7 yrs to get Rachel who he did love. BUT God saw that he loved Rachel more than Leah so he made Rachel barren and Leah had all the children, all sons… I’ve been enojoying following this family!

The next Bible study I am doing is called “Journey in the word” and its a private group on Facebook and each week day, so Monday to Friday we are given a scripture to read and to S.O.A.P and the a daily question, last week we studied about praying. So we read verses

  • Acts2:41-47
  • Hebrews 4:15-16
  • Jeremiah 10:6-7
  • Psalm 145:1-7
  • Romans 15:30 & Colossians 1:9

Our weekly verse for memorising was Hebrews 4:16

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time if need”  We are also required to post in the group daily with our thoughts and comments and talk with other members, I have to confess I’m struggling with that because I’m naturally not as advanced as other women in the group, but I will say I am learning alot, and that was the point of joining.

This week I posted off three of my exams to Emmuas College as part of my Biblical studies, so I’m offically on the way! It’s been a busy week and I’ve really enjoyed it all.

“Anyone who attacks[a] their father or mother is to be put to death.

“Anyone who kidnaps someone is to be put to death, whether the victim has been sold or is still in the kidnapper’s possession.

  • When you are a believer God supports you in good and bad times.

He said, “Because hands were lifted up against the throne of the Lord, the Lord will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to generation.”

Spiritual Sunday             Week Two of Exodus

goodmorninggirls.org

JanWeekTwo

Here is this week’s Memorization Verse:

Memory Work Psalm 7713,14

Monday- Scripture Exodus 6:28-30

“Now when the Lord spoke to Moses in Egypt, he said to him “I am the Lord. Tell Pharaoh King of Egypt everything I tell you” But Moses said to the Lord “Since I speak with faltering Lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?”

Application-

  • When the Lord gives you instruction, no matter how hard it might seem Do it!
  • Do NOT question the will of the Lord, “if he brings you to it, he’ll bring you through it”

Tuesday- Scripture Exodus 7:20-21

“Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed to blood. The fish of the Nile died, and the rivers smelt so bad that the Egyptians could not drink it’s water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt.

Application-

  • No matter how unbelievable a thing might seem (Rivers into blood?) with the Lord NOTHING is impossible.
  • Following the Lords instruction will reap rewards.

Wednesday-Scripture- Exodus 8:28-32

“Pharaoh said “I will let you go to offer sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness, but you must not go very far. Now pray for me” Moses answered “As soon as I leave you I will pray to the Lord and tomorrow the flies will leave Pharaoh and  his officials and his people. Only let Pharaoh be sure that he does not act  deceitfully again by not letting the people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord.” then Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord, and the Lord did as Moses asked. The flies left Pharaoh and his officials and his people, not a fly remained. But this time also Pharaoh  hardened his heart and would not let his people go.”

Application-

  • If we don’t learn from God’s first lesson and continue to sin, God will continue to teach us until we get it right.
  • Lying is a sin, God sees what is in our hearts.

Thursday- Scripture- Exodus 9:33-35

“When Moses left Pharaoh and went out to the City, he spread out his hands towards the Lord; Thunder and hail stopped, and the rain no longer poured down on the land. When Pharaoh saw the rain, hail and thunder stopped, he sinned again: He and his officials hardened their hearts. So Pharaoh’s heart was hard and he would not let the Israelites go, Just as the Lord has said through Moses.

Application-

  • he Lord is patient his will is not our will and he will keep on with his message until it is received.
  • If e keep on making mistakes (as Pharaoh did) the Lord will keep repeating the lesson until we change our ways, “His will not ours”

Friday- Scripture- Exodus 10:9-12

“Moses answered “We will go with our young, and our old, with our sons and our daughters, and with our flocks and herds, because we are to celebrate a festival to the Lord.” Pharaoh said “The Lord be with you if I let you go, along with your women and Children. Clearly you are bent on evil. No! Have only the men go and worship the Lord, since that is what you’ve been asking for” Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of the Pharaoh’s presence. And the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over Egypt so that the locusts swarm over the land and devour everything growing in the fields, everything left by the hail.”

Application-

  • When God requests something of us, we need to go ALL he requests and not pick and choose.
  • By NOT doing as the Lord requests more lessons will keep coming until we do “exactly” as he requests from us “Yours is not to reason why, yours is but to do or die”

Are you reading along with us? what was your favorite bit of this weeks lessons?

Spiritual Sunday on Monday… ah well ya get that!

      Spiritual Sunday

We’re back!! The Good Morning Girls and I are back… we’ve started on Exodus, and also this year we are colour coding.. so that has been an added challenge.

My “Spiritual Sunday” is a day late for a few reasons, which I apologize for..

A- I am still technically in “holiday mode” this will come to an abrupt halt in a few days (Wednesday) when the Bloke goes back to work. We have been in and out of the house and in and out of the holiday place and up and down the roads.

B- to be perfectly honest it’s been a struggle getting myself back into my routine, because “no alarm” meant I woke up when my eyes or a baby woke me up, So then depending on the time I didn’t have the usual luxury of the first hour with the Lord, It’s OK I discussed it with him and he’s OK as long as I get it done sometime during the day. One day I even resorted to doing my study in the car on the way somewhere it was the only “Quiet” time I got!

So this is the start of the second week and I a only getting to blog about the first week, I need to work more efficiently at this part of it.

Week OneExodus One through Five.

Monday- Scripture- Exodus 1:15-17

“The King of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiperah and Puah  “When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth the delivery stool, if you see the baby is a boy, kill him, But if it is a girl, let her live.” The Midwives however, feared God and did not do as the King of Egypt had told them to do, they let the boys live”

Application-

  • Go against that which you know to be immoral like the Midwives did.
  • They feared God more than the King of Egypt.

Tuesday- Scripture-  Exodus 2:1-3

“Now a man of the tribe of Levi married a Levite woman, and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son, When she saw that he was a fine child she hid him for three months, but when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the sleeping child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile”

Thursday- Scripture- Exodus 4:29-31

“Moses and Aaron brought together all the elders of the Israelites and Aaron told them everything the Lord had said to Moses. He also performed the signs before the people and they believed. And when they heard that the Lord was concerned about them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped”

Application-

  • If you are a believer of the Lord, then no matter what happens believe that God is watching over you and leading you through it.
  • God has a reason for everything he does or doesn’t do it is our job to just believe.

Friday- Scripture- Exodus 5:22 &23

“Moses returned to the Lord and said “Why, Lord why have you brought trouble on these people? is this why you sent me? Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak your name, he has brought trouble on the people, and you have nit rescued your people at all”

 Application

  • We are to do as the Lord tells us, faithfully and without question,
  • It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t make “sense” to us it is his will and we need to do it.

  Spiritual Sunday

I’m bacckkk!! I had this planned so well I was going to have this all up to date last week.. well we all know how that went with the Gastro bug that got my whole family and all.. so once again I am behind.. *sigh* Do not despair.. I will catch up to date this week and then this week is the last “Official” week for Blogging and Advent studies. both complete for the year on 19th December. Of course not me.. I will continue to study, I am planning to catch up on some reading and do Sharon Jayne’s “Power of a Womans words” Study, you can learn about it here: http://sharonjaynes.com/the-power-of-a-womans-words/

I have had the book sitting here for a few months but I have been so engrossed in my other studies I didn’t get to start it yet. I am also going to start a “Book” page where I will feature books I am reading or have read and do a little book review and let you all know who I thought. In the next few days I’ll do a recap on all the Bible studies I have done this year and I am so proud of myself for taking them on and not only that actually learning things from them. If you’ve read any of my previous “bible study” posts, you’ll know I have only been doing this “Walk with the Lord” since July 1st and so I have immersed myself in lots of things to soak up as much as I can.

The-Book-of-Psalms-300x253

Monday– Psalm 13:3 & 4

Scripture- “Look on me and answer, Lord my God, give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, and my enemy will say “I have overcome him and my foes will rejoice when I fall”

Application-

  • David is asking the Lord for enlightenment and he is suggesting his enemies will celebrate when he fails.
  • If I do not seek the Lord’s enlightenment then when I am eternally dead my enemies will rejoice
  • So like David I am asking the Lord for enlightenment, open my eyes to your word so that I night have eternal life with you.

Tuesday- Psalm 14:5 & 6

Scripture- “But there are they, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous. You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the Lord is their refuge.”

Application-

  • When you are overwhelmed or stressed, go to God, give him all your worries.
  • Be rich on Gods word and the rest will sort itself out ( I am hearing this message multiple times over the past week)
  • If you do what is righteous God looks down over you with favor.

Wednesday– Psalm 15:2 & 5.

Scripture- “The one who walks is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart. Who lends money to the poor without interest, who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Who does these things will never be shaken”

Application-

  • David was inquiring of the Lord “Who may visit your tent or climb your mountain?”
  • “The one whose walk is blameless: ( who follows all of the Lord rules)
  • The one who does not accept bribes who does these things will never be shaken ( from Gods word)

Thursday– Psalm 16:4-6

Scripture-  “Those who run after other Gods will suffer, more and more, I will not pour out libations to such gods or take up their names on my lips.Lord you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen from me in pleasant places, surely I have a delightful inheritance.”

Application-

  • Those who serve and follow false gods will suffer for the privilege,
  • There is but ONE God, wasting time following other gods will not keep peace in your heart or keep your lives secure.
  • One God is all I need to keep me sustained.

Friday- Psalm 17:5-8

Scripture- “ My steps have held to your path; my feet have not stumbled. I call on your, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer. Show me the wonders of your great love, you who saves by your right hand, those who take refuge in you from their foes. Keep me as the apple of your eye hide me in the shadow of your wings.”

Application-

  • This is a prayer from David to God. David is laying out all his good points to the Lord.
  • When we walk with the Lord and believe in our hearts, we are righteous enough to be able to call on the Lord to hear our prayers.
  • God serves those who believe and shows us his wondrous love.

Advent-Study-Logo-705x1024

Week One- Hope

Monday- Scripture- John 1:1-4  “In the Beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word WAS God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made;without him nothing was made that had been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.”

 Application-

  • God created the whole world an everything in it.
  • Without God nothing would be made, God was the light that created all of mankind.

Tuesday- Scripture- John 1:9-12 “The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was the world. He was in the world, and through the world. And though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet all who did receive him, to those who believed his name he gave the right to become children of God.”

Application-

  • The “True light” was God coming into the world as baby Jesus.
  • As a Baby the world did not recognize God.
